Trying to remember how you originally signed into a website, app, or service can be a real challenge, so 1Password is introducing a new feature to solve that particular problem.

Rolling out now, the password manager's new browser beta adds support for "Sign in with…" buttons—saving your preference, whether that's logging in with Apple, Facebook, or Google, for example. On your first visit to a website or service, 1Password will note the social login method used (if one is used at all) and automatically select it for future visits without user intervention beind required.

"When we announced our vision of the future, we introduced the concept of Universal Sign On," Mitch Cohen, director of product for 1Password B2C, wrote in a blog announcement. "What that means to us is that logging in should be effortless, whether you use a password, your Facebook account, or anything else."

To try ou the new feature, simply download the browser beta for Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Firefox. "It's as easy as it sounds," Cohen said. "Sign in however you prefer and let 1Password take care of the details." The new feature initially supports signing in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, with more providers expected to be added soon.

The password manager also expanded its secure password sharing feature, introduced in October, to include documents and files stored on the site. Additional enhancements include the ability to limit item sharing to a predefined list, toggle requirements for recipients, and share items with an entire domain while still requiring email verification.
