Oppo Reno 8 series will reach in India on July 18

Oppo Reno 8

Oppo revealed the Oppo Reno 8 series back in May. The trio of premium mid-range smartphones brought interesting specifications such as the newly-launched Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and the excellent Dimensity 8100 SoC. Until now, these devices have been exclusive to the Chinese market. But that is about to change. We all knew that their release on global markets was just a matter of time. Now, a fresh new report, confirms that the Oppo Reno 8 series will launch in India on July 18.

The report states that three Oppo Reno 8 smartphones will be launched in India. Therefore, we can conclude that the Oppo Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and Reno 8 Pro+ are landing in India. Worth noting that there has been a recent surge of COVID cases in the country. Therefore, the company is likely to hold an online-only event to avoid agglomerations. Despite previous rumors, it seems that Oppo is bringing the exact same devices to India, instead of launching variants with different specifications.

Considering that all devices are the same, we’ll see some similarities with some OnePlus and Realme phones available in the country. The Reno 8 will land with the MediaTek Dimensity 1,300 with a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen and 90 Hz refresh rate. The Reno 8 Pro has a bigger 6.67-inch OLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, and the Reno 8 Pro+ brings the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC with a 50 MP main camera featuring MariSilicon X NPU for improved AI on imaging.

All three smartphones come with the same 4,500 mAh battery with 80W fast-charging support. In the same way, they run Android 12 OS with ColorOS 12 running on top. For now, the pricing remains a mystery but given to their category and specs, don’t expect them to be cheap. In Europe, there is even an Oppo Reno 8 Lite, but we don’t this variant will be heading to India for now.
